Working at a children's advocacy center for five years has prepared me to work with people who have suffered trauma. Perhaps you only think of trauma as something like being in a war, however trauma occurs in many ways and to many people. Many clients have experienced childhood neglect, physical or sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or even trauma that has occurred in school as a result of intense bullying.
Trauma can lead one to suffer from overwhelming feelings, memories, flashbacks and nightmares. You may find yourself feeling stuck, with feelings of irritation, anxiety, or hopelessness. You may be coping in unhealthy ways that are causing additional struggles. I can help you resolve core issues and move on to a happier, more fulfilling life.
I specialize in treating trauma using EMDR
I am trained to use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
